Choju-ji Temple

I went to Choju-ji Temple on Feburuary 17, '11 without knowing that it was closed during the winter season. So, I took five pictures from outside the fence. This is the entrance gate of Choju-ji Temple.'Choju' literally means longevity or a long life in Japanese. In 1336 Takauji Ashikaga, the founder of the Muromachi Government of Kyoto, built this temple in his former garden where he used to live. This is the main hall of Choju-ji Temple. This is an annex to the main hall Kannon-do hall which was built in Nara during the Muromachi era was transferred here in the early 20th century.
On April 2,11 I went to this temple for the second time and entered.Thealtar of the main hall exhibits three statues.
